First Post

I've created this blog to share renovation progress with family and friends.

Picture left is of the new roof about to be placed on prior to closing.

The house at 1200 Hawthorne was listed on the MLS (which I have access to) on a Thursday at 1pm, I called my realtor, Barry Bevis, and by 3pm we were in it. By 3pm on Friday we submitted an offer, by Sunday we had it under contract. After several addendums we wrapped in closing costs, roof repair, foundation repair (termites) and Central HVAC.
This house is around the corner from my office and close to the center of town. It was built in 1947 but has a new roof, repaired foundation, new windows, and new AC all prior to closing. So all thats left is the cosmetic and interior fun stuff. It'll be my first off-grade house with real hardwood floors! I've moved at least once a year for the past 7 years. I'm excited about a more permanent place and all the projects and sweat equity that will be worthwhile in a place of my own.

  1. I like it. It looks just the right size. I'll be kind of glad when we are able to downsize. This house; I love it, but it is pretty big. And empty without my girls. We finished ALL REPAIRS...yahoo!

Have a new surround sound system and 42 inch tv...I would guess that means we officially grew up!
    love you...
